Introduction to Driver CPC Return to Driving
A 7-hour refresher course designed for drivers whose Driver Qualification Card (DQC) expired between 60 days and 2 years ago. It allows drivers to regain their CPC quickly without completing the full 35 hours of periodic training upfront.
Why was it introduced?
- To help drivers return to work quickly after a break.
- To address driver shortages in the transport industry.
- No theory or practical retests required—just the refresher course.
Key Features
Duration: 7 hours
Format: Can be online or in-person
Eligibility: DQC expired for more than 60 days but less than 2 years.
Result: You receive a one-year National Driver CPC card after completion.
Next Steps: Within that year, you must complete an additional 28 hours of CPC training to maintain your qualification

- Vehicle safety checks and walk-around inspections.
